Details
The Cobalt Digital Multi-Path 9905-MPx is a next-gen advanced scaler and frame synchronizer for the openGear platform. It offers four independent signal paths for UDX, frame sync, audio embedding, and de-embedding on a single open-Gear card. With the HPF-9000 20-slot frame, it can provide up to 24 channels of processing in one frame, showing high packaging density.
This device provides high-density multi-input support and flexibility. The independent up/down/cross convert scalers are designed for broadcast video formats with full ARC control for 4:3 and 16:9 aspect ratio conversions. It supports discrete AES and MADI audio embedding, routing, mixing, and de-embedding in four processing paths. The standard 3D LUT feature and color correction support SDR and HDR processing for downstream HDR systems.
You can control and monitor the card via the DashBoard user interface or Cobalt's RESTful-based Reflex protocol. It can be software-converted to a 4K Quad-Link Input SDM/2SI 4K UDX/Frame Sync card with an option software license.
**Key Features**

Using the Cobalt 9905-MPx is quite straightforward. First, connect your 3G/HD/SD-SDI inputs to the appropriate 75Ω ports. You can route up to 4 inputs simultaneously to the four UDX/FS paths. For audio, connect your AES or MADI audio sources to the corresponding ports.
When it comes to operation, you can use the DashBoard user interface or Cobalt's Reflex protocol for control and monitoring. You can select the input sources manually or use GPI control. Adjust the up/down/cross conversion settings according to your needs, and take advantage of the ARC control for aspect ratio conversions.
For maintenance, keep the device in a clean and dry environment. Make sure the ventilation is good to prevent overheating. Check the cables regularly to ensure they are properly connected and not damaged. If you need to convert the card to a 4K Quad-Link Input SDM/2SI 4K UDX/Frame Sync card, purchase the option software license and follow the software conversion instructions.
Note that not all rear modules support full MADI I/O, so check the rear module illustrations for specific information. Also, the GPIO max capacity depends on the rear module used, so refer to the Rear Module Options tab for details. The device comes with a 5-year warranty, so if you encounter any problems, contact the manufacturer for support.
